Ryan Hogan Writer/Director
Ryan Hogan is a British writer/director based in London and Cambridge. He studied BA Film and Literature at the University of Warwick before moving to London in 2014 to work as a freelance archive producer, script-reader and occasional script-editor. His co-directorial efforts include the short films The Laytons, Fishbowl and Intimacy, the latter of which played at the London Short Film Festival in 2020, as well as several iterations of the Oscar-qualifying ReelAbilities Film Festival in the US. His solo directorial works are Conversation #2 Between Eventual In-Laws and Conversation #19 Between Former Biochem Coursemates.
Cost of Living is his first feature film.
Seán Mackey Cinematographer
Seán Mackey is an award-winning cinematographer and director from Northern Ireland. He studied a BSc in Film & Television Production at the University of York, during which time he won an RTS Award for Camerawork for the short film The Veil, before relocating to London to work as a freelance director and cinematographer. He completed an MA in Cinematography from the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield in 2025. Through his production company, Umbra Motion Picture Company, he has produced and directed short films, music videos and online commercial content.
Finbar Somers Post-Producer
Finbar Somers is a British filmmaker with a background across fiction, documentary and broadcast. He studied BSc Film and Television Production at the University of York, and now resides in London working as a producer and director through Umbra Motion Picture Company. His features as producer include To Nowhere, which had its theatrical release in 2023, followed by the documentary A Distant Call, which premiered in the International Spectrum competition section at Hot Docs 2026. Finbar’s projects have been presented at Norwich Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Sheffield DocFest, DMZ Industry, Docs By The Sea and Global Short Docs among others.
Matt O'Rourke Co-Composer
Matt O'Rourke is a British musician, recording under the name One Day We Will Be The Trees. He released his debut LP Brink in 2023, and is currently working on his second album.
Karina Fernandez Jayne Baghurst
Karina Fernandez is a British actress, who graduated from the Drama Centre London. She is best known for her performances in three of Mike Leigh's films – Another Year, Happy-Go-Lucky and Mr. Turner. She began her regular theatre work in 1997, and has since performed in several plays including Shopping and Fucking and Woody Allen's Murder Mysteries. Other film and television credits include Pride, Killing Eve and Twenty Twelve. She's also an instructor at City Academy, London.
Rosie Taylor-Ritson Robin Baghurst
Rosie Taylor-Ritson is a British actress, perhaps best known for Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang. Her other credits include touring productions of Joseph and his Technicolour Dream Coat and Annie, and independent horror film Strangers Within.
Rob Jarvis Martyn Baghurst
Rob Jarvis is a British film and television actor. He is best known for his recurring role of Eddie in the long running BBC series Hustle, Graham Shand in Luther, Russell Posner in Emmerdale and Eddie Corrigan in River City.
