Robin has a remote, bristly relationship with her mother, Jayne – an inveterate liar and alcoholic with whom everyone is finally running out of patience.
But when her father, Martyn, files for divorce, she finds in her mother’s newly vulnerable state an opportunity for the closeness they’ve never had – and unwittingly brings to light the fragile contracts underlying their family ties.
